Made to measure at our Stourbridge workshop. Designed for a back wall and one side wall, with the opposite end exposed. Choose the wall side as viewed from the front.
One 17 × 17mm solid timber side batten, fitted into a centred 17.5mm-high, 20mm-deep groove. The batten replaces the outer concealed bracket on your chosen wall side; the remaining concealed rear brackets follow our depth-dependent floating-shelf layout.
The groove stops approximately 5mm from the front. The batten sits 3mm inside the shelf end, leaving material for careful planing or sanding to accommodate small wall discrepancies.
Unedged raw MDF at each wall end; 1mm face laminate or veneer where used. The exposed end is finished to match your selected edge/finish. All applied edging is 1mm thick.
Enter finished shelf sizes, after allowing your fitting clearance. We recommend 1–2mm at each wall side; we do not deduct it again. Square and angled ends are the same price. Available delivery dates are shown during checkout.

Thickness: 38, 52mm finished thickness.

Finished sizes include your own clearance allowance. No additional clearance is deducted. The 3mm scribing allowance is not extra fitting clearance.

Our standard manufacturing and delivery lead time is approximately 7–14 working days, depending on your chosen specification and current production schedule.
UK mainland delivery is £9.95, with free delivery on qualifying orders over £250. You can choose your preferred available delivery date during checkout.
Your shelves will be carefully packaged to protect the finish during transit.
Installation
Fit each supplied timber batten to a suitable wall using its 3–5 countersunk holes for 4mm screws, choosing appropriate wall fixings. Slide the shelf into the alcove from the front. The snug 17mm batten fits the 17.5mm-high groove, leaving 0.5mm total height clearance.
If the front opening is narrower than the back, order a square shelf that can pass through the narrowest part and fill the remaining gaps with a suitable filler or sealant. For bowed or irregular walls, contact us before ordering.
To measure an angled wall, place a large square flat at shelf height with one edge against the back wall and measure the sideways gap at the planned shelf front. A 600mm roofing square is useful; a genuinely square piece of paper or board also works if it is large enough and kept flat. Enter gaps in millimetres, not angles.

Returns / Warranty
As your shelves are manufactured to your individual measurements and specifications, change-of-mind returns are generally not accepted for correctly supplied bespoke products.
If your order arrives damaged, defective or does not match the agreed specification, please contact us so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

Chuffed to bits with my new alcove shelving. At first I was a bit worried about how good a fit I would get and how strong the shelves would be, but I was carefully guided through the measuring process and what type of supports would be best. The results are as good as if they shelves had been built on site. I went for a walnut veneer finish, which looks great.
The installation initially seemed a bit daunting but quickly made sense and with a bit of care and patience each shelf slotted neatly into the alcove.

Just finished installing my first floating shelf order from TopShelf UK. Very pleased and had no trouble with solid installation using supplied concealed brackets but I used some smaller wall plugs and screws than the provided hardware as my shelf is fairly small and not going to carry much load. Very pleased by helpful service including manufacturer who phoned me to confirm where I wanted bracket positions in shelf (as I needed to avoid a possible conflict with wiring in wall). Finish of shelf seems excellent. Just have to find so e other spots around my home now so I can order more! Thanks

We ordered 5 shelves from TopShelf, we went for floating due to the walls on either side not being even, rather than the alcove fit. The customer service was great as one of the shelves we ordered was wider and they talked me through the better option of a rebar fit for the bottom shelf to have better security. The shelves are absolutely gorgeous and are well made. There was a bit of a hiccup due to the delivery company but the team at TopShelf remedied the issues very swiftly. We've just had them installed and they look amazing! Would definitely order from here again.

Ordered 8 alcove shelves and 4 or 5 radiator top shelves, in veneer to save a little. All very high quality and perfect finish. Very well packaged, and on time. They are heavy as they are solid, so brackets are quite large. Called to check measurements with me as I needed different front and back of shelf lengths due to old walls!
